Remember When?

Dec. 2-6, 1966 The Christmas season was to officially open on Saturday with Santa’s arrival in a La Grange fire truck driven by Chief Stanley Webb. The La Grange High School Band was to escort Santa, as he prepared to take up residence in the Christmas hut on the Square. As part of the festivities, children eight years of age and younger were to be offered free rides on the Chamber of Commerce Ferris wheel. Atlan Citzler, manager of the La Grange Utilities, as well as city manager, was elected president of the Municipal Utilities League at the Texas Municipal League’s 55th annual conference in Fort Worth.
