You Caring Account Set Up for Former Weimar Medical Center Employees

A You Caring account has been set up by two nurses who were employed by Weimar Medical Center, which abruptly closed Nov. 25 leaving more than 50 employees, many who live in Fayette County, unpaid. The facility is no closer to re-opening and employees have now gone almost a month without paychecks.

Here's the description written by the two ladies who set up the account:

"This You Caring has been set up for the staff of Weimar Medical Center in Weimar,Texas which shut down Friday night, November 25th, 2016 the day after Thanksgiving without paying its staff. As anyone would imagine this has caused a dire hardship for all involved and many children will do without Christmas as they've come to know it. With most of the staff single mothers and/or everyone living paycheck to paycheck and being primary breadwinners there's a lot of uncertainty for us all this holiday season. One staff member said she has no food in her house, light bill due Monday, and had to cancel her little girl's birthday party Saturday the 26th. Others have car payments, rent, and insurance facing us. Some have disabled spouses. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated."
