Candido “Mike” Guajardo
Candido “Mike” Guajardo, 85, of La Grange, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in La Grange, Texas.
Mike was born in San Jose De Aura, Mexico on November 3, 1931 the son of Pablo and Guadalupe (Sanchez) Guajardo. He married Maria Veronica Garcia on August 17, 1953, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn, Texas
Mike was self-employed throughout his lifetime and did work in fencing, hay hauling, and saw mill work. Many fences in Fayette County were made by him.
He loved the outdoors, spending time with his family, and working mill work. He enjoyed singing and dancing.
He is survived by his four daughters: Rosalinda Adamcik and husband, Larry; Charlotte Michalsky and husband, Mark; Maria Rocha and husband, Philip; Nereida Rubio and husband, John, all of La Grange; four sons: Joe Guajardo and wife, Sofia; Paul Guajardo and wife, Maria del Pilar; Luis Guajardo and wife, Dolores, all of La Grange; Mike Guajardo and wife, Karina of Wimberly; nineteen grandchildren: Shane Adamcik and Nicole; Ryan Adamcik; Laura Amaya and Juan; Cristina Guajardo; Kelly Guajardo; Jose Guajardo; Nicole Ramirez and Juan; Miranda Schlabach and Mike; Juan Darby Guajardo and Elizabeth; Veronica Guajardo; Jenifer Rocha; Jackie Lynn Rocha; Andrea DelaRosa and Carlos; Adam Guajardo; Robert Guajardo; Marissa Rubio; Emily Rubio; Juan Carlos Rubio; MiKenna Guajardo; and nine great grandchildren: Logan and Olivia Adamcik; David, Louis, Jose, and Edwardo Amaya; Christian and Jaylyn Salas; Juan Jose Guajardo; brother, Henio Guajardo of Austin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maria Veronica Guajardo; and brother, Canuto Guajardo.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hostyn, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016. Burial will follow at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Hostyn.
