Sign Issue Gets Messier
Tom Hudson’s new sign got him ticketed.
Now he’s wondering what an older-looking sign will get him.
After refusing to turn off his new digital sign at Subway, Hudson, the business owner, was written a ticket Friday with a fine attached of up to $500 for violating the city’s sign ordinance.
Hudson was told he was in violation of the sign ordinance because he had a digital sign capable of scrolling messages.
That ordinance was put in place back in 2008 as a means of historic preservation.
Tuesday Hudson replaced his digital sign with a crude, wooden, spray-painted sign advertising his latest special.
