Kovar
Irma Carrie (Orsak) Kovar, 91, of Fayetteville, died from complications due to Alzheimer’s on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016. Irma was born in Fayetteville on Feb. 23, 1925, the daughter of Joe Florian Orsak and Marie (Shimek) Orsak. She married Edwin Mike Kovar on Feb. 6, 1951. Irma was a beautician and owned and operated the Ideal Beauty Shop for 50 years. She enjoyed working in her yard and creating quilts. She enjoyed singing with the Czech singers and listened to her beloved polka music daily. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. They were her first priority in life! Irma was a breast cancer survivor, beating it twice in her lifetime. She is survived by daughter, Debra Pflughaupt and husband, Ronnie, of Fayetteville; son, Jeffrey Kovar and wife, Kayley, of Weimar; daughter, Cheryl Bauer and husband, Fred, of Fayetteville; son, Roy Kovar and wife, Joy, of La Grange; brother, Dennis Orsak and wife, Dorothy, of Fayetteville; two sisters: Madeline Petrofsky of Columbus and Loretta Naumann of Fayetteville; three sister-in-laws: Adeline Kovar, Mary Orsak, and Alice (Kovar) Kerwin and husband Dennis; four grandchildren: Kacy Dusek and husband, Byron; Grayson Kovar and wife, Amy; Bowyn Baird and husband, Dalton; and Kendall Kovar; two step grandchildren: Julie (Bauer) Cardenas and husband Annabal and David and Kacy Paden; two great-grandchildren: Tensley Kovar and Rockwell Dusek and step great-grandchild, Connor Paden, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband’s parents Emil V. and Mary (Piwetz) Kovar; husband, Edwin Mike, two brothers: Joe and Albert Orsak; five sisters: EmLee Key, Gladys McCoy and husband Sam, Alice King and husband Paul, Marion Tschatschula and husband Gus and Doris Smith; two brother-in-laws: Paul Petrofsky and E. J. Kovar and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bernice and Harry Wecheta, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Knesek Chapel, 207 N. Live Oak Street in Fayetteville. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 209 E. Bell Street, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016. Burial will follow at Fayetteville Catholic Cemetery.
