Kulhanek

Jonnie Mae (Bohot) Kulhanek, 93, of La Grange, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2016. Jonnie Mae was born in La Grange on April 27, 1923, the daughter of John and Martha M. (Gaertner) Bohot. She married Jerome “Jerry” Kulhanek on Jan. 20, 1944. Jonnie Mae was a homemaker caring for her family who she loved very much. She also kept the books for the family’s small business for many years. Her many hobbies included baking, sewing, quilting and gardening. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Annunciation No. 1962, Altar Society and La Grange VFW Post 5254. She is survived by son, James Lee Kulhanek and wife, Elaine, of Katy; two daughters: Marianna “Anna” Burk and husband, Mark, of Llano; and Sue Fitzpatrick of Cedar Park; sister-in-law, Margie Halfmann and husband, Joe, of Columbus;five grandchildren: Keith Kulhanek and wife, Lindsay; Stacy Mills and husband, Gregg; Jon Fitzpatrick and wife, Susan; Jeff Burk; Jennifer Winters and husband, Dennis; seven great grandchildren: Ashley, Bryce, Jason, Parker, Cami, Wilson and Lauren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Kulhanek; and brother, Lloyd Bohot. Visitation was held on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic  Church, 539 E. Pearl St., in La Grange, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016. A rosary will be recited prior to the funeral mass beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at La Grange City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Court Annunciation No. 1962, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 275, La Grange, Texas 78945.
