Flatonia Begins Interviewing Police Chief Candidates

Flatonia City Council could select a new police chief as soon as next month.

Flatonia City Manager Mark McLaughlin said the city has received about a dozen applications so far and expected a few more to arrive in coming days.

“I’m very pleased with the turnout,” he said.

City Council previously appointed a technical committee to review the applications, conduct initial interviews and narrow the field to three or four finalists. Council will then interview the final candidates before selecting the next chief.
