Norsworthy

Orine Johanna (Schulze) Norsworthy, 91, of La Grange, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016. Orine was born in Rutersville on Sept. 24, 1925, the daughter of Ferdinand Schulze, Jr. and Augusta (Burmeister) Schulze. She married first husband, Andrew Wilson Wood in 1945 and then married her second husband, William Clarence Norsworthy in 1972. Orine worked as an LVN at La Grange Hospital and Fayette Memorial Hospital and retired with 47 years of service. Her greatest enjoyment was overseeing the family farm operation since the age of 7. The cattle were her pride and joy and she was at their side during calving season and personally named each cow and calf. She loved sitting on her front porch swing and appreciated the simple life. She is survived by two sons: Donald Roy Wood and wife, Delores; and Daniel Andrew Wood and wife, Joyce, all of La Grange; three grandchildren: Gail Cain and husband, Brandon; Jill Jacobson and husband, Randy; Brian Wood and wife, Amanda; step grandson, Edward Faldyn; five great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Benjamin and William Cain; Andrew Wood; and Adalynn Wood; two step great-grandchildren: Justin and Julie Jacobson; and two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Andrew Wilson Wood and second husband, William Clarence Norsworthy; sister and brother- in- law, Glenda and Melvin Toll;brother, Nolan Schulze. Visitation was held on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 427 S. Washington in La Grange, at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017. Burial followed at La Grange City Cemetery.
