Ringing (and Singing) in the New Year

New Year’s Eve is often a time for celebration. There are parties, drinking, dancing, eating, and often resolutions to improve your life in some way.

Over the years, my husband and I often attended those parties – some public, some private. We would stay up dancing and talking until midnight, make a toast, get a kiss and start the New Year.

Things have changed a bit since we became grandparents. The first year after our granddaughter was born, we all went to a local dance that was family friendly and celebrated the New Year. We continued that for a couple of years, but after the second grandchild arrived, it became easier to stay home with the little ones than to get them out on such a busy night.
