Bernice (Sumbera) Buscha Heinrich, 81, of La Grange, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017. Bernice was born in Ammannsville on July 9, 1935, the daughter of George and Rosie (Dusek) Sumbera. She married Benjamin Buscha on Jan. 16, 1954 and they were married for 49 years until he died on Feb. 25, 2003. She later married Lawrince Heinrich on Oct. 22, 2005. Bernice loved gardening and tending to her flower garden and mostly the roses. She also enjoyed many years of deer hunting with her family and friends. She had a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Lawrince Heinrich; two daughters: Debra Tindall and husband, Lewis, of La Grange; Donna Stockton and Wes Land, of Lake Jackson; three step children: Nichole Gomez and husband, Jack, of San Antonio; Ninette Heinrich of San Antonio and Roger Heinrich of La Grange; three grandchildren: William Behler and wife, Holly, of La Grange; Marcus Harris of Austin; Ashley Thomason and Jerry Smith, of Spring; seven step grandchildren: Roger Heinrich, Jr., Ryan Heinrich, Madelyn Gomez, Gregory Heinrich, Mark Flores, Jonathan Heinrich and Steven Gomez; five great grandchildren: Kellan, Landon, Riley and Ian Behler and Cash Smith; and numerous step great grandchildren. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Adolph Sumbera; first husband, Benjamin Buscha; infant daughter, Cheryl Ann Buscha; grandson, Jeffery Behler; and brother,Robert Sumbera. Visitation was held on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family received friends from 4 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service followed at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 FM 1482 in Warda, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017.
