Flatonia leaders have been trying for years to get an Amtrak train stop in their city, and a train actually did stop there Saturday night, but only to kick off an unruly passenger.

According to a report from Interim Police Chief Troy Rudloff, Amtrak officials contacted Flatonia Police around 9 p.m. on January 14 reporting a drunk and disorderly female passenger that needed to be removed from the train.

The train stopped around 9:15 p.m. in Flatonia. Flatonia Police removed the passenger with assistance from Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety. The woman, identified as Tina Burton of Oklahoma, was initially arrested for public intoxication. Rudloff said Burton was combative with the officers.
