Ruth Youens Gross of Columbus died Jan. 10, 2017, at Columbus Community Hospital. She was 88 years old. Ruth’s parents were Charles Langdon Youens and Margaret Emily (Gay) Youens. Ruth was born June 14, 1928, on the family farm near Columbus. She was a 1945 graduate of Columbus High School, and she married Grover McRae Gross in 1949 in Columbus. She is survived by her husband, Grover McRae Gross of Columbus; her son, Mike Gross and wife Christine of Silt, Colorado; and her daughter, Jean Howze and husband Harmon of Round Top. At Ruth’s request, no service is planned. A private family burial in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus was held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of your choice. Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus was in charge of arrangements.
