When Life Seems Out of Control

like being in control. Not like, “I want to take over the world” in control, but I like being able to get a handle on a situation and influence the outcome. As a parent, I always found myself wanting to “fix” things when my kids got hurt. When they came in with a scrape or a bump, I would put some ice or a bandage on it and usually I could “fix” it. I was in control.

But, recently, I was feeling little sorry for myself. There were several things going on in my kids’ lives that I had no control over – things that I couldn’t “fix.”
