Area Star/Patriots Lineman Waddle Excited About His First Super Bowl

Members of the Tommy Taylor family of La Grange will have a little extra to root for in Sunday’s Super Bowl game.

Taylor’s great nephew LaAdrian Waddle, a former Columbus High School star, is a back-up offensive lineman for the New England Patriots.

At Monday’s Super Bowl Media Day, as the game’s biggest stars were surrounded by cameras the entire time, Waddle got to hang out on the infield of Minute Maid Park and just enjoy the spectacle of it all.

“This is what you work for. This is what you put in all those hours of hard work for,” said the 6-foot-6, 315-pound Waddle. “I hope at the end of all this I have a nice (championship) ring on my finger. I’m really looking forward to Sunday.”
