Benedict “Bennie” Martin Vitek

Benedict “Bennie” Martin Vitek, 85, died Feb. 28, 2017.

He was born to Martin and Albina (Mikes) Vitek in Fayetteville on Jan. 15, 1932. He married Laureen Knesek on Aug. 17, 1952 in Wallis.

He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Laureen, and children, Larry Vitek (Cheryl), Diane Francese (Mike), Debbie Frederick (Chuck), Stephen Vitek, Brian Vitek and Vicki Robey, (Dean). His is also survived by his brother, Frank Vitek and wife, Madeline; and sister, Agnes Cook.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Dorothy Klecka, Millie Vitek and brothers: Justin, A.P., C.J, Libert and Dominic.

A rosary was recited on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with the memorial mass following at 11a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 704 Mallette Dr., in Victoria. Per his wishes, he will be cremated. A private inurnment will take place with the family at St. John’s Catholic cemetery in Fayetteville at a later date.
