Visitation for Floyd “PaPa Moose” Gee, 85, of La Grange was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2017 in the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gordon Johnston officiating. Interment followed at 4 p.m. in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville. Floyd was born March 7, 1932 in Kingsmill to Willie Franklin and Bernice McLean Gee. Floyd loved traveling and camping with his fifth wheel travel trailer, making things out of metal, playing pool, and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. Floyd served his country in the National Guard. He retired from Texas New Mexico Pipeline where he was employed as a Welder/Pumper/ Mechanic. Floyd is survived by one daughter; Donna Bartek, and her husband, Dennis of La Grange; one brother, Harold Gee, and his wife, Janice of Electra; two grandchildren, Tami Cooper, and her husband James of Smithville, and Kandice Spoelstra, and her husband Martin of La Grange; seven great-grandchildren; and his second wife; Juanita Michna of Bastrop. Floyd was preceded in death by his first wife, Val Jean Gee; one son, Gary Wayne Gee; one grandson, Daniel Laurence Malina; one great grandson, Brenden Spoelstra; two brothers, Carl and Bill Gee; and three sisters, Faye Rust, Bertie Rogers, and Louise Jeskey. Family suggest memorials to: Alzheimer’s Association, Capital of Texas Chapter, 3429 Executive Center Dr., Suite 100 Austin, Texas 78731. Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
