Walters

William Edgar (Bill) Walters of Ledbetter, died suddenly on March 28, 2017, in the arms of Lynne, his loving wife of 45 years. Bill loved traveling, books and good conversation. He was born in Waco on Feb. 2, 1940, grew up in Lake Jackson, and spent most of his professional life in Houston. He was the only child of Joe Boyd Walters and Edna Pearl Arendal Walters Cresswell, both of whom preceded him in death. Bill got his undergraduate degree from University of North Texas and his M.Ed. from the University of Houston. He was a lifelong teacher and educator, and retired from Houston Community College in 2001. Bill is survived by his wife Lynne, daughter Deanna (DeDe) Farris, cousin Wanda Michie, beloved “aunt” Esta Penso, best friend Sue Cox, and many friends and colleagues. According to his wishes, a memorial gathering will be held in the near future.
