Kelly
Anita, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, went home to her Heavenly Father on March 6, 2017. Preceded in death by her husband William Henry Kelly, those who will cherish her memory include her sons, William (Margaret), and Patrick Kelly; daughter, Kim (Duane) Madere; six grandchildren: Michelle (David) Pope, Justin (Teia) Kelly, Chimme’ (Chad) Hall, Jessica (Brett) Callier, Jeff (Olga) Kelly, and Megan Madere; 13 great-grandchildren: Kylee, Landon, Maverick, and Remington Kelly, Madison Schuchert, Max and Sawyer Hall, Joelle and Callie Madere, Victoria Carroll, and Blake, Brandon and Kailyn Pope; her sister, Patricia Myler; and her sister-in-law, Bonnie Martelli. Others who will deeply mourn her loss include a host of caring friends from the communities of Deer Park, La Grange, and Bastrop, where she lived in recent years, and members of the Methodist Churches in La- Grange and Bastrop. Anita was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, in 1939 to John Davis and Mary Burke Davis, she met and married William while he was stationed at the United States Air Force Base, in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England, and in the years which followed moved to La Grange Texas and welcomed three children, William, Patrick and Kim. Striving to always learn and grow she studied and proudly received her American Citizenship, and an Associates Degree from San Jacinto College in Pasadena. She spent her years working as a Food Service Manager for Deer Park ISD, and loved the long career and many friends and co-workers she sustained in her tenure. After retirement, she lovingly and selflessly volunteered at St. Mark’s Medical Center, AMEN Food Pantry and Second Chance Thrift Store. “Nana”, as she was affectionately known to her family, was the moral, spiritual and social glue which bound them together and nothing made her happier than to be in their company. Enjoying time at the family ranch in West Point, having family meals, fishing, and playing cards and dominoes, were some of the fondest memories our family has spent with this warm, loving and compassionate woman that we affectionately referred to as “Nana Banana”, “Camp House NaNa”, and “Ranch Boss”. Funeral Services were held Friday, March 10, 2017 at Ascension Catholic Church in Bastrop. Interment followed at Pitman Cemetery.
