Wacker

Funeral services for Norbert Wacker, 84, of Warda, were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda with Rev. Dennis Tegtmeier officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Norbert Edwin Wacker was born on Sept. 14, 1932 in Warda, the son of Edward August Wacker and Hulda Amanda Martha (Tschatschula) Wacker. Norbert farmed for many years then he was a carpenter and worked for Leslie Giese and Paul Schramm. Norbert loved to hunt, fish, and garden. Norbert was on the finance committee both at St. Michael’s Lutheran in Winchester and also Holy Cross Lutheran in Warda. Norbert died the morning of Friday, April 7, 2017 at his home in Warda. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Hulda Wacker; one niece, Linda Schramm Kappler; one sister, Hildegard Wacker Schramm and two brothers-in-law, Edward Fischer, and Gus Schramm Sr. Norbert is survived by eight nieces and nephews, Margaret Eschberger Lehmann of Giddings, Kathy Fischer of Lake Jackson, Barbara Fischer Forseth and her husband, Ole of San Antonio, J.C. Schramm and his wife, Carol of La Grange, Daniel Fischer and his wife, Brenda of La Grange, Gus Schramm Jr. and his wife, Janet of La Grange, Paul Schramm and his wife, Jeanette of La Grange, and David Schramm and his wife, Allene of La Grange; nephew- in- law, William Kappler and his wife, Tina of Giddings; twenty grand nieces and nephews; sister Lorine Wacker Fischer of La Grange as well as other relatives and friends. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings was in charge of arrangements.
