Von Minden Sold

The historic Von Minden Hotel in Schulenburg has been sold to a newly-formed company called Von Minden Associates LLC. One of the firm’s partners told the Record that the company closed the sale with the previous owners, the Pettit family of Schulenburg, on Wednesday morning, April 19.

Von Minden Associates plans to undertake a major restoration of the 90-year-old local landmark, the partner said. The four-story structure is the tallest building in Schulenburg. The Pettit family operated the hotel and movie theater for nearly 40 years, along with a restaurant, Momma’s Pizza Kitchen, located on the first floor of the west end of the building.
