Teacher Reportedly Assaulted at La Grange Intermediate School

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of March 26 through April 2.

Assault

On March 27, Patrolman Jack Mickelson responded to an assault at La Grange Intermediate School where a student assaulted a teacher. Mickelson gathered information from teachers. 

Animal Complaint

On March 29, Patrolman Jeff Schultz responded to the 400 block of E. Travis in reference to a dog that was running back and forth between HEB and St. James Church. Schultz checked the area but was unable to locate the lost dog. 

On March 29, Patrolman Kristi Anguiano checked the 100 block of E. Pecan for an area that has bees. Keith’s Bee service was called to take care of them. 

On April 1, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call of a snake in the 1800 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Upon arrival, Anderson was unable to locate the snake which had been outside the business. 

Accident 

On March 31, Mickelson was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Travis for a minor accident. No injuries were reported.

On March 31, Mickelson responded to the 100 block of S. Crockett for a minor accident with no injuries. 

City Ordinance Violation 

On March 31, Mickelson responded to the 700 block of E. Pecan in reference to a trailer being parked on E. Pecan that sits for a long time. Upon talking to the owner they advised they are going to move it over the weekend. 

Criminal Mischief

On March 28, Sgt. Steve Pohorelsky responded to the 100 block of Meadow Lane for a vehicle scratch. 

On March 28, Anderson received a call regarding criminal mischief in the 600 block of E. Pearl. A window had been broken out with a brick. 

On March 31, Investigator Gonzalo Anguiano and Patrolman Kristi Anguiano were dispatched to the 400 block of E. Travis where a complainant stated he bumped a SUV with his vehicle at HEB and spoke to the lady of the vehicle. There was no damage and the lady stated it was OK. The complainant went into HEB with his wife and exited the store and found that his truck had been keyed. Investigators were at HEB to view the surveillance video and were advised by the assistant manager Blanca that she viewed the video and it does not show the lady doing anything to his truck. The video shows her driving off. Know one is shown keying a truck. 

Disturbance 

On March 26, Sgt. Troy Stevens was informed of a speeding vehicle and doors slamming and possible gunshots on S. Jackson between E. Pecan and E. Walnut. No vehicle description was provided. Upon arrival, Stevens did not locate anything. Dispatch had advised that the complainant did not wish to be contacted. 

On March 28, Pohorelsky responded to Bluffview for a black male and black female yelling at each other in the vicinity of lot 59 and upon arrival was unable to locate anyone in this area. Pohorelsky returned later after receiving a request from a female that wanted to be escorted off the property. The female was from an earlier call and stated she and her husband had been arguing earlier. 

On March 30, Schultz was dispatched to One St. Mark’s Place to the emergency room lobby in reference to a verbal disturbance between a divorced man and woman where a female stated her ex showed up and started causing problems because their son was there after getting accidently hit with a bat at a ball game. Schultz advised both subjects to not argue while in the hospital. Both subjects agreed to put their differences aside while their son was in the hospital seeking treatment. 

On March 30, Schultz was dispatched to the 200 block of S. Ellinger Road in reference to an irate tenant in the main office. Schultz spoke to a subject who advised he was trying to check out and wanted a copy of the lease his girlfriend signed. The subject advised the manager couldn’t or wouldn’t produce one. Schultz advised the subject that it was a civil matter and that if he wanted a copy of the lease and his security deposit back he would have to go through the courts. The subject agreed and went back to his room.
