Second Chance Stories: The Kangaroo Edition

Where in Fayette County might one find a kangaroo pelt for sale?

The answer last week was Second Chance Emporium, the non-profit second hand clothing, toy, furniture, kitchen ware and, yes, animal hide store on the west side of La Grange. Mindy Girard, a 14-year-old Flatonia High School student, picked up the fur from “down under,” thinking it would make a good bed for her cats.

Mindy knows Second Chance. She’s volunteered there, as well as other groups around the county. And she’s seen how the money that comes in during Second Chance’s Friday and Saturday sale days is distributed to good causes.
