$37.9 Million LG School Bond Approved
The bond election for $37.9 million in school improvements at the La Grange Independent School District passed by a 744-427 margin Saturday.
That equates to 63.5 percent of the vote going for the bond proposal.
Saturday’s vote comes after a pair of failed bond elections for school improvements at LGISD in 2010 and 2011.
Why did this one pass and the others fail?
“I think the bond steering committee did a great job of listening to what the community wanted and of addressing those issues,” said La Grange Superintendent Bill Wagner.
Wagner said a 30-day waiting period now begins, after which the district will begin meeting with architects to start the design phase.
