A wrecked Honda Odyssey sits in the median of State Highway 71 as La Grange and Ellinger volunteer firefighters extinguish a grass fire along the highway. The grass fire started around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, along SH 71 east of La Grange near Mueller Feed. La Grange Fire Chief Frank Menefee said the fire likely began from a blown-out tire, as he located bits a tire debris near the fire’s origin. Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department assisted. Several acres along the highway burned in the blaze, but no structures were damaged. Just as firefighters gained control of the blaze, the Odyssey pictured above rear-ended another vehicle at the end of a line of slow-moving cars.
