Rohde Takes Silver in Hurdles at State

Fayetteville’s Braden Rohde brought home a silver medal from the State Track Meet in 1A Boys 300 meter hurdles on Friday, May 12.

Karson Bryan of Happy beat Rohde by just under a second to take the gold medal.

“It was an intense race, we were neck and neck,” Rohde said after the race. “I knew it was going to be me and him throughout the whole race. We’d have to battle each other.”

Rohde took a slight misstep before the last hurdle in the curve of the track, allowing Bryan to jump ahead.

“He hit that hurdle really clean and I was just a little off on it,” Rohde said. “He capitalized on it and I couldn’t catch him.”
