Charlscie Dee Krivacka, 83, of East Bernard, died Friday, May 12, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born in Corinth on Dec. 11, 1933. Charlscie is survived by a son, Scott Krivacka, of East Bernard, a niece, Karen Haisler and husband Steve of Elgin, in-laws, Ed and Edna Mae Krivacka of La Grange. Other survivors are three great nieces, one great nephew, two greatgreat nieces and two great-great nephews along with four cousins. Charlscie was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Krivacka, parents J.D. and Ruby Coburn of Buffalo, brother Powell Coburn also of Buffalo, her deceased husband’s parents William and Annie Krivacka of Fayetteville, and a nephew Mark Krivacka of San Antonio. Charlscie attended school in Buffalo and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1951. She pursued her college work at Sam Houston State University and attained her degree in Education upon graduation from SHSU in 1955. She started her teaching career at New Caney, where she met a fellow teacher and the love of her life marring Jerry Krivacka in 1959. In 1961 they moved to East Bernard and both accepted teaching roles in the East Bernard Schools and made the community their home. Her primary role was being a house wife and mother but had a second love, that being caring for her students. She retired from classroom teaching after 30 years but did not quit teaching. She continued substitute teaching for 12 years and loveingly watched the children learn while having fun in the process. A burial Mass was held in her home parish of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard. She was laid to rest next to her husband Jerry Krivacka in the Buffalo City Cemetery in Buffalo. Charlscie has many dear friends she cherished dearly that included fellow teachers and parents of children that appreciated her work with their children. There are too many to name but the family offers heart felt thank you for their friendship and love that so many expressed during her brief illness.
