Sharon Anne Price, 61, former Fayette County resident, died April 9, 2017 at her current home in Bastrop. Sharon was born Aug, 22, 1955 to Paul and Frances Redding of Houston. She was a devoted Catholic and member of Ascension Catholic Church in Bastrop in her last season of life. Sharon was a loyal Aggie, loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening, hiking, and just experiencing God’s beauty all around her. She was an extremely gifted and experienced nurse. Working as a flight nurse, in emergency rooms, children’s hospitals, labor and delivery wings, medical administration and research positions, and everything in between, all over the United States, she had literally become a one of a kind nurse whose passion never wavered or could be questioned. The medical field lost a little of it’s luster with her passing. Her biggest joy, though, was who she is survived by. Her three children, Jamie Martinez and husband Emilio of San Marcos, Jacob Price of Beaumont, and John Price and wife Coby of La Grange; her five beloved grandchildren, Gracie and Max Martinez, and Ryder, Rowe, and Crew Price; brother John White and wife Mary of La Grange; and sister, Julia Redding Woods of Lufkin. Sharon is preceded in death by both her parents, Paul and- Frances; and sister, Paula Redding Morris of Houston. Also, her longtime friend and dog, Maggie Price. Her children will be hosting a Celebration of Life memorial June 10 at 11 a.m. at South Shore Park in Bastrop (375 South Shore Road, Bastrop, Texas 78602). Friends and family are welcome to gather to share happy memories and honor the smart, strong, and beautiful woman known to some as Sharon and others as NeNe. In lieu of flowers, we think what would make her most happy is just simply enjoy the outdoors. Go for a walk, a hike, or fishing. Enjoy the world around you, even for a moment, in her honor.
