Robert William Anderson, 48, died May 25, 2017 in Houston, after his brave and lengthy battle with Juvenile Diabetes. Robert was born in Houston on June 23, 1968 to James Kenneth Anderson, who recently predeceased Robert, and Betsy Johnson Anderson. He is survived by daughter, Kimberly Alexis (“Lexi”) Anderson, of Houston; mother, Betsy Johnson Anderson, of Winchester; sister, Julie Anderson Bundick and husband, Mark, of La Grange; brother, James Kenneth Anderson, Jr. and wife, Reneé, of Houston; and nieces and nephews, Katie Collins Anderson Miller, William Walker Anderson, Chandler Clare Anderson, Luke Thomas Anderson, Robert Jackson Bundick, William Johnson Bundick and Clara Elizabeth Bundick; aunts: Cathy Johnson Mahony, Charlene M. Anderson, Thomas F. Anderson and wife, Bibbi; and cousins: Robert Searls Johnson, Logan English Johnson, Lisa Anderson Stewart, Amy Anderson Le Crone, Amanda Anderson Worrell, Emily Anderson Wasson, Hunt Anderson, and Reagan Anderson. Robert was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Marion Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Sherman Anderson and uncles: Dr. Robert Marion Johnson Jr and W.M. “Buddy” Anderson. Robert was a graduate of Episcopal High School of Houston and attended Texas Tech University. He dedicated his life to serving others and worked over 20 years for the Harris County and Bastrop County Sheriff’s Departments in various capacities, which included serving as an investigator. He also worked as a paramedic and served as the captain for the Montgomery Fire Department. Visitation was held Sunday, May 28, 2017, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Koenig and Strickland Funeral Home, 208 W. Pearl St. in La Grange. Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. on Monday, May 29, 2017 at St. James Episcopal Church, 156 N. Monroe St. in La Grange, with Rev. Eric P. Hungerford officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Walker Anderson, Captain Ric Cole, John Duncan, Seth Gunn, Logan Johnson, Robert Johnson and Scott Locher and honorary pallbearers were: Holcombe Crosswell, Jimmy Harvey, Ellis Locher, Al Martin and John Striegler. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 12 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale in Houston. In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions in Robert’s memory may be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the St. James Episcopal Church Endowment Fund.
