Malyn Parker Receives WACA Scholarship

The Winchester Area Civic Association met on Monday, June 5 with 22 members and guests present.

Marceil Prestridge awarded the WACA scholarship to Malyn Parker, daughter of Scott and Neta Parker and granddaughter of Evelyn Parker all of Winchester. Mayln is continuing her education in order to become a dental hygienist.

A discussion was held on the hanging of the quilt blocks on the front of the hall and the formation of a quilt trail in the Winchester area. Margaret Atkins and Rhoda Gersch will be pursuing and organizing the trail.

The group discussed holding a dinner as a fund raiser for the Winchester 4-H Club. Sunday, Aug. 28 was set for an eat-in and drive through spaghetti dinner. More information will be forthcoming.
