Mary Beth Haas, 80, of Rosenberg, died June 24, 2017. She was born on June 20, 1937, in Rosenberg to Richard and Judith Petter, both of Fayette County. She graduated from Holy Rosary Catholic School, Lamar Consolidated High School and earned a business certification there after. Mary Beth was employed 30 years at Fort Bend Federal Savings and Loan as an Escrow Manager. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. As a pillar of her church, she was active in countless ways being a member of the Compassion Committee, Vacation Bible School, Grandpals, KJZT, Altar Society, and Catholic Daughters to name a few. She graced the church with her attractive flower arrangements at many of the functions over the 60 plus years. In addition to being active in her church, she enjoyed gardening, going to the farm, travelling with close friends, playing bunco and socializing, but most of all, taking care of and spending time with each and every one of her devoted grandchildren. She held special friendships with many of her extended Mensik family. She cherished her friend ships with so many in her church, beloved Rosenberg, La Grange and Hallettsville communities. Mary Beth was so very social that no matter where she went, she easily made a connection with those she met. This loving mother, Memo and friend will be missed. In addition to her parents, Mary Beth is preceded in death by her husband, Ervin J. Haas. Survivors include her sons,Anthony Haas and wife, Sharon,and Stephen Haas and wife, Guinette;grandchildren, Ryan Haas and wife, Kelly, Sarah Haas and fiancé, Mick Hoffman, Caroline Haas, Stephanie Haas, Megan Haas, Philip Haas and many special friends and family. Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. A funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg with Father William D. Bartniski officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg,. Pallbearers will include Ryan Haas, Philip Haas, Mick Hoffman, Michael Bozka, Howard Katz, and Larry Garrett. The family would like to thank Dr. Ivan Mefford and Staff, Crescent Nursing Home, Oak Bend Medical Center and Bluebonnet Hospice for their love, care and support during Mary Beth’s illness.
