Zuhn

Frieda M. “Fritzie” Zuhn, 91, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Frieda was born in Lee County on July 27, 1925, the daughter of Ben Paul Nowotnik and Martha (Symmank) Nowotnik. She married E.C. Zuhn on Jan. 24, 1954 in Manheim, Texas. Frieda worked at National Biscuit Company, also known as Nabisco, in Houston before returning back to La Grange to marry E.C. and raise her family. She was a hard worker and an excellent cook and baker. She is survived by daughter, Diana (Paul) Mikulin; sons: Michael (Lori) Zuhn; Timothy (Ann) Zuhn; Steve (Lisa) Zuhn; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister, Esther Donsbach; sister-in-law, Kitty Nowotnik; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years, E.C. Zuhn on April 3, 2017; sisters: Betty Orts and Sally Spaeth; brothers: John and Hank Nowotnik; and several nephews. Visitation was held on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Second viewing was held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral Services were held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in La Grange at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017. Burial followed at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Craig Peterson, Aaron Zuhn, Dillon Zuhn, Mark Mikulin, Tony Mikulin and Bobby Zuhn. Honorary pallbearer was Hannah Zuhn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
