Clinton Otis Herbrich, Sr. (Pops), 88, of La Grange, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017, at home where he felt most comfortable. Clinton was born in the Rabbs Prairie Community in Fayette County, Texas, on December 3, 1928, the son of Robert Paul and Amelie (Wolff) Herbrich. He attended the Mullins Prairie Public School up until the 9th grade. He then served in the U.S. Army as a chef and was a member of the American Legion. He married Rosemary Woody on February 25, 1956 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in La Grange. Clinton brought Rosemary out of the city and into the country where she worked side by side with him on the farm for 30 years until her sudden passing. Farming was not only Clinton’s career, but the joy of his life. He worked the fields and ranched in the Holman and Mullins Prairie area his entire life. Spending time with his family and feeding his fish in the pond with his grandchildren were his greatest enjoyments. He is survived by three sons and three daughters: Robert Herbrich and wife, Wanda, of Weimar; Clinton Herbrich, Jr., of La Grange; Richard Herbrich and wife, Lee, of La Grange; Mary Herbrich, of Weimar; Susie Polasek and husband, David, of La Grange; Pam Vinklarek and husband, Russell, of La Grange; fifteen grandchildren: Mathew Herbrich; Roxanne Herbrich & fiancé, Zach Zahradnik; Jason Kasper & wife, Ashle; Victoria Herbrich & fiancé, Ryan Psencik; Dylan Herbrich & girlfriend, Missy Zoch; Mikie Herbrich & wife, Erin; Ashley Schimcek and husband, Kevin; Michael Polasek and wife, Dana; Brooke Vinklarek; Dalton Brown; Austin Brown and wife, Haley; Beverly Banks and husband, Steven; Ronda Peacock; Shannon Rosenauer and husband, Ronald; Shelly Munsch and husband, Charles; fifteen great grandchildren: Kevin and Jacob Polasek; Madison and Jaxon Kasper; Kenedy and Kaleb Schimcek; Riley and Everly Herbrich; McKenna and Amberlee Munsch; Justin Rosenauer; Dylan Laake and wife, Jenna; Drayton Divin; Foster Thompson and Ryan Treybig; one great, great grandchild, Audrey Laake. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rosemary; two sisters and their husbands: Gladys Munke and husband, Fred, and Nelda Hemple and husband, Oscar. Visitation was held on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 70 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange. Family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Funeral Services were held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, La Grange, Texas at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. Burial followed at La Grange City Cemetery in La Grange. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 800 N. Franklin, La Grange, Texas 78945; Hospice Brazos Valley, 1248 N. Jefferson, La Grange, Texas 78945 or a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home, 208 W. Pearl, La Grange, Texas.
