Royce Arlen Zbranek, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the age of 80. He was the loving husband of Violet (Patsy) Zbranek. They shared 55 years of marriage. Born in Haw Creek, Texas, he was the son of Joe and Helen Zbranek. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 5. He enjoyed dancing, country music (especially Darrell Mc-Call), and having a beer at Post Oak. He will be remembered for being a wonderful husband, dad, and PoPo, a strong willed person with a vibrant personality, and for making the best homemade chicken noodle soup ever. He is survived by his wife Violet (Patsy), sons David (Zeebo) and his wife Shelly, Darryl and his wife Judy. Grandchildren: Lezli Thomas and her husband Josh, Lauren Zbranek and friend Josh Ponder, Bronte Durham and her husband Aaron, Kody and Sadie Zbranek. Two nephews, one niece, and their children. He was predeceased be his parents, one sister, and brother-in-law Jack and Florine Carpenter. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 19, at 10 a.m. at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home. The family received friends on Tuesday July 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. Pall bearers are Gary Carpenter,Terry Carpenter, Jerry Wagner, Bert Blaha, Bubba Schneider, Roger Blaschke, & Brad Schielack. Honorary Pall bearer will be Kody Zbranek. In lieu of regular remembrances, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic School in La Grange or the charity of one’s choice.
