Destiny Monique Ross

Funeral services for Destiny Monique Ross, 28, of La Grange, were held on Saturday, Aug. 19 at St. James Baptist Church in Plum with Rev. Robert Wellington, Officiating and Rev. Austin Jones, Pastor, Eulogist. Burial followed in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, West Point. Destiny died Aug. 15, 2017. Destiny Monique Ross was born in Houston, on Nov. 19, 1988 to Franklin and Bobbie Ross. She attended various churches in the community during her young life. Destiny attended school in La Grange and graduated from La Grange High School in 2007. While attending Prairie View University, Destiny began her long stuggle with diabetes and kidney failure. By the grace of God and with undying determination, she overcame numerous medical obstacles and in May 2012 she earned her degree in Criminal Justice. Destiny was preceded in death by her mother, Bobbie (Anderson) Ross. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her father, Franklin Ross of Houston; two brothers, Michael Ross and Caleb Ross of Houston; one sister, Angel Ross of Houston; a niece Zaniyah Ross of Houston; grandmother, Ella Ross of Houston; two special cousins, D’Vonte Daniels of La Grange and Donald Daniels II of Lake Jackson; one best friend, Anna Gonzales of La Grange and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. Tommy Taylor Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangments.
