Fayette County Fair Flood Update
The Fayette County Fair has been searching for the last few days how they can help the victims of this horrific flooding. Here is how they plan to help:
The 2017 Fayette County Fair will benefit the fund raising efforts of our community by donating this years profit to support flood victims.
Due to the weather, certain aspects of the Fair will need to change. The carnival is unable to reach us. The cost of moving their equipment and the price of diesel has made it impossible for them to be a part of our Fair this year. IF you purchased a fun pass, you have two choices. You can return your ticket for a cash refund. OR you can donate that portion of your ticket thru the Fair to the Flood victims. The details of how and where to do that will be posted Tuesday, 8/29.
The senior appreciation event will be held at the Round Up Hall on Thursday, Aug. 31.
The opening ceremonies, followed by the Queens contest will be held on the Marge Rosenberg Stage at the Fairgrounds. There will be no charge for attending this event.
Friday. Saturday, and Sunday concerts will go on as planned with the stage set up at the front, on asphalt. This will make it so much easier for getting around.
The other pieces of the Fair will go on as normal.
Come out and support the Fair in supporting our own, the victims of the flooding. Let us know if you have any questions. And stay close .... there are lots of details to come.
