Boil Water Notice in Place Until at Least Tuesday

About 41 people remained in the La Grange Second Baptist Church flood shelter as of 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1. City Manager Shawn Raborn said Mayor Janet Moerbe was working with religious leaders in town to find short-term accommodations for the remaining displaced.

The City’s water system remains under a boil water order. Raborn said staff submitted water samples on Friday and then had to re-submit samples over the weekend. If those results come back clean, the City could lift the boil order on Tuesday morning at the earliest. The water can now be used for cleaning just not drinking yet. Cleanup efforts continue in flood affected areas of La Grange.

Raborn said city dumpster service has slowed due to high demand for dumpsters and a problems getting fuel. The City was able to stage a number of large roll-off waste containers around flood-affected areas on Thursday.  However, some residents with flood damage on North Main Street were forced to pile up debris along the street due to the slow trash service.
