Delores Lila (Quade) Oppermann

Delores Lila (Quade) Oppermann, 74, of La Grange, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2017. Delores was born in Round Top on March 11, 1943 the daughter of Robert and Elfa (Mendrovsky) Quade. She married Fred H. Oppermann on Feb. 17, 1962 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. She worked as a Teacher’s Aide at La Grange ISD for 34 years. She volunteered at Second Chance Emporium and St. Paul Lutheran Church after retiring. Delores’ greatest joy was spending time with family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, especially during the holidays and family gatherings. Delores took great pride in working in her yard, going out to eat with her close friends, and shopping with her daughters for that special bargain. She is survived by daughter, Michelle Martin and husband, Scott of La Grange; grandchildren: Amanda Dittert and husband, Saxon of College Station; Ryan Dockery and wife, Breann of Vancouver, Wash.; Tyler Dockery and wife, Charity of College Station; two greatgrandchildren: Brooks Dittert and Zoey Staal; mother-in-law, Glennie Oppermann of Bastrop; sister-in-law, Barbara Fulton of Bastrop; and son-in-law, David Dockery of La Grange. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elfa and Robert Quade; husband, Fred H.; daughter, Melissa Dockery; father- in-law, Arthur Oppermann and infant sister, Carol Ann Quade. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home, 208 W. Pearl in La Grange. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul Evangelical Luther Church in La Grange at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017. Burial will follow at La Grange City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepard Fund, Disaster Relief for Fayette County, Prosperity Bank, 202 W.
