Muldoon Inundated with Rain from Harvey

Hurricane/Topical Storm Harvey came to Muldoon and stayed a while. High winds and lots of rain fell in our area. There were a number of trees blown over and limbs down all over. One limb even blocked Pin Oak Road. Meanwhile the rain, with accumulations of over twenty three inches, fell in and around our area. Many were trapped in by the rising creek waters. Waters swept over the roads in many places making travel impossible.

Most Muldoon residents had to hunker down and wait out the storm and its aftermath. Many had prepared for the emergency and had no real difficulties. There were a few who lost their power, but thanks to the hard work of Fayette Electric Cooperative it was restored in a timely fashion.

There were some reports of damage to homes due to the high winds and blowing water. There are lots of fences down in and around the flooded areas. Roadways have been damaged and are being repaired as fast as the crews can work, but there is damage all over the area. It was amazing how well the majority of the area weathered this storm. There still will be damage found in the weeks to follow due to the strength of all the varied weather conditions.
