Local Students Can Ride Along with EMS Through the Medical Explorers Program
If you are a young adult between 15 and 20 interested in the medical field, then Medical Explorers is for you. This is a hands on, highly interactive program where students will learn about different careers in the medical field, become first responder trained in CPR and first aid, have the opportunity for a scholarship, and much more.
Even if you are not set on pursuing a medical field career, Medical Explorers is an ideal opportunity to earn hands on experience alongside highly skilled professionals. The program is led by Doady Rogers, a longtime employee of Fayette County EMS. Her goal is to help students explore various medical fields and potentially discover their future career.
Each class incorporates life skills, character building, and a medical portion based on areas students are interested in, as well as teaching respect, responsibility, and motivation. Current Medical Explorer Jason Sotebier said he is “looking forward to going on ambulance ride-outs and learning more about the profession.”
