Schulenburg Councilman Questions City’s Aid to La Grange During Flood

Schulenburg City Councilman Harvey Hercik raised concerns over his city’s decision to send police officers to assist La Grange with the historic Colorado River flood two weeks ago.

The issue came up in the Schulenburg City Council meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 5, while Police Chief Troy Brenek gave his regular monthly report to the Council. During his report, Brenek thanked his officers for helping out in La Grange.

“It shows that we’re able to step up to the task at hand,” Brenek said.

“We’re those officers paid or was it voluntary?” Hercik asked.
