New La Grange Cop Sworn In

Just sworn-in La Grange police office Bret D. Meinardus brings a lot to the table. To start with, he was born in the city and graduated LGHS in 2009. His parents are Cheryl and Kenny Schmidt of La Grange and Dale Meinardus of Fayetteville. Stepdad Kenny is also with the La Grange police agency as an investigator. Officer Meinardus is no stranger to police work, having served three and one-half years on patrol in the Southeast and Clear Lake Divisions of the Houston Police Dept. He was also an investigator for the missing persons-juvenile division.

Prior to graduating from the Houston Police Academy in 2013 Meinardus served four years as a U.S. Army paratrooper based in Fort Richardson, Alaska. During his service he saw combat action on Afganistan-Pakistan border.
