Sacred Heart Altar Society Meets Sept. 11

The Sacred Heart Altar Society members met on Monday, Sept. 11 in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Parish Center. Prior to the meeting a pot luck social was enjoyed by the members beginning at 6 p.m. President Karen Janda called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and led members in the opening prayer. Twenty four members were in attendance including one new member.

The secretary read the minutes which were approved and the treasurer and assistant treasurer gave their reports. Three thank you notes were read by the Assistant Secretary for remembrances received.

Under the Spirituality Commission, a report was given by the chairperson of the Church Commission, Doris Lidiak reminding members that the meeting day marks the 16th anniversary of 9/11. She also led a prayer for the Hurricane Victims. The Church Preparation Co-Chair Gracie Fucik thanked everyone who participates in the church cleaning and gave special recognition to Anita Proske for her readiness to assist when called upon. The flower committee chairperson, Judy Langhamer, reported that flowers had been provided for the First Communion Mass, for High School and Kindergarten Graduation Masses, and for First Friday Devotions. Ladies continue to provide flowers for regular weekend Masses as scheduled. The chairperson of the Clerical Endowment Fund Nina Blaha reported on the May, June and July CEF enrollments.
