Venettrice LaFleur (Pietsch) Richter, 84, of Warda, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2017. She was born on Sept. 21, 1933 to Robert A Pietsch and Minna (Pietsch) Pietsch in Warda. Venettrice was baptized into the Christian faith on Oct. 1, 1933 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church by Rev. Paul C. Eifert. She confirmed her baptismal faith on March 30, 1947 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church by Rev. Paul C. Eifert. Her confirmation verse was John 10:27-28, “My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me and I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hands.” Venettice and Clarence (Champ) were married on September 6, 1953 by Rev. John Herzog at Holy Cross. Venettrice was a loving daughter, wife and friend. She greeted everyone she encountered with a warm, friendly smile. Venettrice was an excellent cook which included her love of canning, grilling and baking. Her collection of cookbooks numbered close to 500. She also loved nature and enjoyed watching and feeding birds and squirrels. She was also an avid fisher – she taught many the proper way to clean a fish. She had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. Her wisdom and knowledge far exceeded her education. Venettrice was a passionate reader like her mother and never missed an opportunity to learn something new. Champ and Venettrice touched many hearts by lending a hand or leaving an encouraging word. Venettrice is survived by her brother, Collin Pietsch and wife, Mary Ann, of Warda; and numerous nieces, nephews, greatnieces, great nephews and many other relatives and many good friends. Venettrice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence “Champ” Richter. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 FM 1482 in Warda, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Faith Lutheran High School of Central Texas, P.O.
