Lightning Blamed in Fayette County Farm House Fire

Fire fighters from the Schulenburg and Weimar the volunteer fire departments are finishing putting out a house fire on Dubina Weimar Road.

The call came in around 4 PM this afternoon, Tuesday, October 3. Schulenburg ISD Steve Jeff Proske said the fire was likely caused by lightning. No one lived in the home. The couple from Temple owns the property. The home is over a century old and appears to have been recently refurbished.

The flames cost extensive damage and collapsed one part of the roof.
