Lorain Margaret Klimek Hrachovy, 85, died peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017 in Houston. She was born on Nov. 21, 1931, to Rosalie (Knippel) and Adolph Klimek in Fayetteville. Lorain was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (G), and great-grandmother (GG). She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother, Marian Albers and Daniel Klimek. Lorain is survived by her loving, caring husband of 66 years – C.J. Hrachovy. Children: Tim Hrachovy, Rick Hrachovy and wife Candas, Karen Stavinoha and husband Tommy; Sharon Parks and husband Gary, Maria Harris and husband Scott. Grandchildren: Sarah Rogers, Steven Stavinoha and wife Elizabeth, Krystle Parks and fiancé Joey Richard, Margaret Parks, Kendall Harris, and Carter Harris. Great-Grandchildren: Evan Rogers, Ethan Parks, Makenzie Richard, Alanna Richard, and Hunter Stavinoha. Sister Patricia Henneke and husband Al, sister-in-law Blanche Pater and husband Joe, sister-in-law Louise Klimek, and brotherin- law Daniel Hrachovy, along with many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends. Lorain walked one mile (one way) to her elementary school in Willow Springs. She later graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1948. She married C.J. in Fayetteville on April 1, 1951. Lorain worked in downtown Houston at an insurance company in the old M & M Building. She, Marian, and her cousin Evelyn Lincke shared a garage apartment in the Heights while C.J. was in the Army. After he came back to the U.S., they started a family while he worked and went to the University of Houston at night. Lorain loved cooking (especially her wonderful kolaches, lemon and poppyseed rolls, sugar cookies, etc.). After raising her five children in the late 70s, she went to work at Sears until her retirement in 1992. She was a charter member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and a member of the Guardian Angel Society 114 (KJZT). Lorain was blessed to become a colon cancer survivor. In 2015, she suffered a stroke which left her unable to be with her church family and many of her dear friends. Family and friends gathered in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, where Deacon Dan O’Dowd led the Rosary at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, followed by a visitation from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral Liturgy was 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, in the sanctuary of St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8825 Kempwood Drive, also in Houston. Following a brief reception at church, the Rite of Committal was led by Deacon Robert Jasek at 3 p.m. in the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Fayetteville. Carter Harris, Kendall Harris, Steven Stavinoha, James Albers, Duane Albers and Matt Henneke honored to serve as Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Catholic charity of your choice. Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston was in charge of arrangements.
