Kathleen (Allen) Cope

Kathleen (Allen) Cope, 92, of Schulenburg, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2017. Kathleen was born in Saline, La. on June 8, 1925, the daughter of John Timothy and Mamie C. (Rogers) Allen. She was married to the love of her life -- Herbert Cope on May 21, 1955 in Caddo, La. Kathleen attended Saline State High School in Saline, Louisiana where she graduated on May 27, 1921 as valedictorian of her class. After her graduation her life milestone was following her personal motto be “prepared for anything”. She derived great joy while being an avid listener of gospel music and its musical history roots. Kathleen so enjoyed her weekly games of bridge with her many lifelong friends. While being blessed in life, she is survived by many dear friends. And her Beta Sigma Phi. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Herbert. Memorial Services will be held at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home, 208 W. Pearl in La Grange, at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “The Methodist Men” FUCMC, P.O. Box 89, La Grange, Texas 78945, Ida Reichardt Memorial Scholarship Fund or charity of your choosing.
