AT&T Responds to Petition About Poor Service
A local AT&T customer is hoping the power of social media might convince the cell phone carrier to improve their service in La Grange.
Rev. Jonathan Smith, pastor at La Grange First Baptist Church, started a Change.org petition last week bemoaning his troubles with AT&T’s wireless phone service.
“I can’t place phone calls, I can’t receive phone calls, I send texts but they won’t go through,” Smith said in a video on the petition website. “I have lived in La Grange for ten and a half years, and the service was pretty good for nine years. But for the last 18 months, everytime I get a call at my office I have to go outside because the people can’t hear me.”
“I can’t do the normal things that I do as a pastor, which is talk to people, encourage people, and take care of people, even on the phone,” Smith added.
Smith said the problem “came to a head for me” two weeks ago, when he received a call from a old friend who lives far away and was considering suicide.
