Wreck Closes Old River Bridge

An 18-wheeler rolled over after hitting the guardrail on the old Hwy. 71 river bridge in La Grange this morning, Nov. 15.

The accident ripped open the truck’s fuel tank, spilling diesel over the roadway.

The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. TxDOT crews were about to open the bridge back up to traffic around 9 a.m.
