Two Dead in Clear Lake Pines House Fire

Firefighters and Sheriff’s deputies recovered two bodies from the house fire in the Clear Lake Pines subdivision near Winchester on Friday afternoon, Dec. 1.

The home was completely destroyed. Fire Chief Eddie Schneider on the Winchester Volunteer Fire Department said the home was fully engulfed when the first firefighters arrived.

A neighbor reported that two elderly women lived in the home and that both of their vehicles were in the driveway.

La Grange VFD and South Lee County VFD assisted the Winchester firefighters. Firefighters got the fire under control around 3 p.m.
