Ellinger and Fayetteville Phone Lines Down

Update: Frontier Communications repaired the telephone lines shortly before 5 p.m. yesterday, Dec. 7.

Fayette County Judge’s Office reports that a donwned utility pole in the Fayetteville area is affecting telephone customers in Fayetteville and Ellinger.

Land lines with the prefix 378 in the Fayetteville and Ellinger area can reach other land line customers in the immediate dialing area but are unable to reach 911. To contact emergency personel, residents in the affected area can call the local fire station at (979) 378-4404. Personnel will be on hand to answer those calls and dispatch necessary responders.

Citizens will likely be able to reach 911 from a cell phone. However, wireless service in the area could also be affected.
